Basil and Parsley Pesto

  • 2 cups packed basil leaves
  • 1 cup packed Italian parsley
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • Chop basil along with parsley, garlic, and almonds in a food processor.
  • Add honey, salt, lemon zest, and juice then blend the mix together until a paste starts forming.¬†
  • Add oil gradually and continue to crush until a creamy paste has formed.
  • Add the Parmesan cheese and blend again till the paste comes together.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
